Dealing with Recruitment Consultants
More and more companies are turning to recruitment and search consultants to find candidates to fulfill their recruitment requirements. Below are some tips to keep mind when dealing with recruitment consultants.
Do's
- Do: limit the number of consultants you deal with. 360 Search would recommend working with one specialised agency only
- Do: your research on the agency prior to hitting "send" on that email with your resume attached. 360 Search would recommend only speaking to specialist consultants within your designated industry
- Do: find out from your recruiter which clients they speak to or send your CV to.
Dont's
- Don't send your CV out to every recruitment company you come across
- Don't sit and wait for things to happen, be pro-active with your recruiter. Call him or her.
Overall make sure YOU as the candidate stay in control of the process and don't let the recruitment consultant dictate where your CV ends up or who you interview with without your prior consent.
